EBAy gates belt
THis is what you are talking about. One of these would be the go. But I seriously doubt if an aftermarket timing belt is needed if you run stock cams. Considerign they are supposed to last 100Km.

A kevlar belt seems to be a good idea one you would have less wear reducing cam belt changes at the regular intervals. If you used a cheeper belt and it snapped how much would you be up for? Even the v8 super cars run a carbonfibre based tyre wall .the teeth on the kevlar would be stronger ,this would create less wear on cam gears giving it a better mesh .

As much as i agree as this does sound a little dodgy. u need to have a think about the guys that go all out and spend 17+g on there engines alone. 250 is a small price to pay to save a big dollar engine not to mention that when they build these engines they get the best of the best parts, and i presume that thiss is the best belt. even if its just for peace of mind too.

The point is that maybe it isn't the best belt - maybe a Gates race belt is actually stronger than this thing....maybe the whole kevlar blah blah is a marketing lie.
And this was the conclusion I was starting to reach. I'm not going to pay $400 for piece of mind, if it is based entirely on fraud, dishonestly and a need to manipulate the uneducated sector of the automotive market. Don't mind being proven wrong, that was just my opinion. You can view topic.
