Thats what im thinking, i reckon next year i'll do hillclimbs and some s/sprints and then get into it more seriously 2009. Geez the years roll on, i stopped racing karts in 2001 and need to get back on the track and have a pedal.

Hey Whitey,
no problems with yours - removing original gearbox mounts is okay. Adjustable bottom arms would re-classify you as a sports sedan however.
Cheers

I cut the top of my Radiator support. 2 1mm cuts, sooo 2mm gap.

I have to spread the front of the car to put the piece back in.

I have run a piece of 25mm angle across the top to stop it "caving in".

ive cut mine out and bolted it back in using fish plates but my custom intercooler also bolts into the removable piece making it just as stiff either way always consult your engineer before you start any cutting
cheers wayne

You can get a CA18+gearbox in without cutting the front apron if you get the front pulley machined off the balancer!!!

After that it's just a matter of jacking up the BACK of the car and it should just squeeze in in one peice.

Yeah Daveman - I think I will try it the 'hard' way first....then if there is trouble resort to a rad support mod.

My friend the panel beater is just getting a little keen to do some cutting I think.

Mildman, panel beating mates are notorious for cutting things up then not getting around to fix them, the lower d/side rear quarter has been off my sedan for about 2 months now, he has a new one folded up ready to weld on but getting him enthused is near impossible.

Try it the conventional way first. My Ke10 corolla has a removable radiator support top. This is what you want to do isnt it?

WS - yeah that was the thought (clearly influenced by the panel beating mate).

I will give it a crack the non cutting way first - and will be sure to post 6 million photos on the website...

Thanks for the pic too - I hadn't seen too many photos of this approach.

By the way do you regret in on the KE10?

No worries, this is the way Ke10 and Ke20 corollas are from factory, actually a great little car to work on.
