maybe i could get a stumpy skyline 5 speed (future ca conversion) and get both bellhousings so does anybody know what model these boxes came out in and who makes the bellhousings for an a series if even done

Not 100% sure but I think the ugly hatchback looking ones had the stumpy 5spd?

the r30s had the stumpy boxes, yes they are ugly and hatchback

Ok so I guess the question is - what car did the 60 series L block box come out of?
Because, I don't see why the Aseries 60 series bellhousing wouldn't fit either (and I happen to have one )

i think and this is extremly unconfirmed that 60 series 5 speeds came out of 1600's
but hey im not sure it would be good if somebody could confirm my guess

Your're right according to this - late model 1600's had them. I'm betting they are as rare as the A series ones though...

The 60L 5-speed came behind A14s. The L is a dogleg shift pattern. Used in 1979 models and maybe early 1980 models.
It is possible the "late model 510" used them as that web page indicates. "late model 510" is the USA model 1978-1982 "Datsun 510" or Nissan chassis code HL510, which appears to a variation of A10. They used an L16 engine. You can view topic.
