That really sucks dude - what @#$@s!

Go a cleverly hidden immobiliser switch methinks.

Did the pricks damage your door getting in?

I can get Jaycar car alarms wholesale if you're keen (they're a bit dodgy though)

if its auto just leave it in reverse if the thief is in a rush they would never think of it, maybe???

To stop thieves I use a power cutt off switch. Second, a gasoline cut off switch. If you are using an electric gasoline pump, a separate switch to give / cut off power to the pump is the way to go. If using a mechanical pump, a motorcycle gas tank valve does it. With both devices, the thieves will never start the car ( no power) and if going through the power block ( which I doubt ) they will run out of gas within a mile.
Add to that an alarm , and if you leave yourcar in a driveway ... anchor it. Put a metal ear in the concrete of the floor/ driveway. Thick chain and a hefty lock from floor ear to the rear axle will keep it there.Short chain, so there is no area for busting the chain.
This is too much, the thieves will never have the time nor piece of mind to go over all those obstacles.
If you want to add a conventional alarm on top of it, fine.

O forgot to add, with todays technology you can add a miniature camera , hidden in a corner of the car.The camera is fed from the car battery, with ultra minimum power usage. I have seen this on TV, in reality programs, this cameras can be checked via computer.....I will find out about it. That would be cool, to tape those imbeciles while they take off......if they ever after all the security devices... but still they deserve hell for entering the car and violating it's sanctity.

With my 1600 i scored a fuel cut off valve, its a valve u put in the fuel line and u just make it accessable and u can shut off the fuel ( butterfly idea)... works easy

or do wat i did with my old 1200 ute, everytime i parked it i took the coil to dizzy lead out and either put it behind the fuel door ( 1200 ute) or i put it in the missus handbag (never happy with that but meh haha)

id also recomend putting in kill switches all over the car in various locations...

or get one of those valve cap things u put on ya tyre, so if it moves the valve opens and deflates the tyre, obviously use 4 of the bastards... they had that at work, worked awesome too

i have a 1200 that i got a pager alarm for.
when i put the alarm in i made it so the deterrent light lights up the hole cab so there is no mistaking that it is armed

an immobiliser would be a good start, maybe a pit bull in the car overnight, the rotor button is a good idea, (who carries one of them around while hunting for a car to steal) put a sticker on the steering wheel mentioning that you don't want to do another life sentence but if you have to you will. or sit in the dark with a baseball bat and see if they come back and if so hit them, it's a very good deterrent.

i was working on the verge of my old house under my old 180B and had some guys come past and yell some abuse so i stuck my head up they stopped and got out "young tough guys all 5 of them" i picked up my 4x4 temp wood crossmember put it over my shoulder as i stood up 6'5" and they all ran back in the car. big lumps of wood are good deterrents.....

but the steel loop in the floor is a good idea i'm going to have a couple of those in my shed for my motorbikes...

I remember years ago a friend of mine had his HX Holden GTS stolen in Sydney and he thought he was doing good removing the rotor button didn't stop them though. My feeling is most of these simpletons like to hit and run so if you disconect the wire to the dissy and tuck it out of the way it may work. Save losing your rotor button after you take it out otherwise a kill switch is a simple thing to install good luck

my old 720 had the electric fuel pump wired through a missile switch on the dash, even though i did it and knew about it, at least once a week Id start it and drive off to run out of fuel 100m down the road
