It could had been a poorly rebuilt oil pump. Some rebuilders are just scammers.
Did you install that pump?? or was it in your engine beforehand?? I will look at the pixes later....back to work...

it was 'rebuilt' of something... I don't have a trace for where this pump came from, i suspect it was one from ebay, or possibly from partsamerica.com. - but probably ebay...
I think i possibly gave the mechanic a bad pump... but isn't it a nice failure. my engine has less than 10,000 miles on it too, but not going to be covered, i care less about placing blaime than gettign it fxed and not having any other fun...

more bad oil pump pics...
wow! found more bad stuff!! the snout of the pump had a crack in it too! Also the drive gear is slightly longer than the other one, even with the broken part of the shaft taken off, the pump is still very tight, the pump chamger and top have 0 clearance still... there were some very bad things going on here!
