its all a bit pricey and maybe a stretch for me but when am i going to race at phillip island with other dattos so im just going to have to pay ..
as for the dinner i think it is way to pricey the one at the goulburn datnats 05 was only about 30 bucks and i had a good night there .. hey boofhead at least you not an 11hr drive away like me and many others it could be very expensive for me as im driving down, racing and driving home again (hopefully) i think the show day should be free to enter unless you want to be judged, il put my car in it anyway but the paint is ####house , but as far as im concerned its about taking your datto and having fun no matter what the condition of it !

I think both sides realise that with dwindling numbers, we need to 'stick together' to survive. I'll certainly be there to support the effort.
Datnats is a religious pilgrimage. It would be sad if we can't all make it.

This is gonna be an interesting thread
It really is all relative .... Organisers try to cater for a wide spectrum and not everyone will be happy. Go to the event and pick only the events that you can afford/ or really want - then just enjoy the vibe with other Datsun owners. BBQ option is a great idea - maybe at a locals house or even catch up at a club - options are endless ... As for cost / prices etc .... ask anyone not into cars, their opinion of value for money on your latest purchase or project cost to date Most of us gladly go without or scrimp and save for the next "must have" on our car, but other things are ridiculous. I do it all the time Remember... it's all about the Datsuns! Cheers

I totally agree with boof. It's almost putting datnats out of reach for some of us. I love the idea of the meet and I will be still there, but I could get on Phillip island with the skylines or wrx club for less than half that and would get 20+ laps in.

geez mate, even if it was held in my town, those prices are a bit of a stretch!!!
not everyone has a bulging wallet matbighat, it has nothing to do with attitude, im sure he is grateful datnats exists. sometimes your better off putting food on the table or petrol in your car than go to some overpriced datto event. wrong attitude, or right priorities?? a comment about wrong attitude coming from a seppo!!!! hahaha you crack me up!!

it's attitudes like boofy's that eventually bring down an event (like shasta)
what he's saying is he'd rather surf and puff then work a bit extra to pay his entry never mind he doesn't have to drive interstate like dattodude and others i know it may be asking the impossible, but try and act grateful datnats even exists

Yes, a $60/head dinner sounds a bit rich. I haven't paid that much for a dinner in 5 years. (excluding drinks).
I was talking to my brother about it, and we think there might have to be a 'rebel event' for the dinner. Maybe a big backyard BBQ and some beers? Especially for those of us that are going to the Nats for the chat, not to compete with our friends. I compete at work..not in my free time. The trivia night is a lot of fun, I'll be doing that. I'm no tof either. (a tof is a rich old person, I don't know the derivation) Gotta go.. all the same.

DATNATS ... an expensive outing ??!!

looks like an expensive weekend ?!!!
basic entry $75 or advanced entry $160 track day $190 for possibly only 9 laps of the track ?? you need to have the following : cams license $48 or $88 ?? don't know which ones needed ? NDSOC club membership $65 if your not a member of a cams affiliated club ........ then if you want to go to the ndsoc dinners and stuff more again !!!!! plus food and accomodation and petrol ..... looks like around the $400 mark just to get into it all, thinking i'll be missing the track day and could even be a stretch for the concourse ?? as much as i love my dattos i've always looked at them as being for the budget minded enthusiests ?? not the bazillionaire tof ??!!!! the entry forms dont even mention the 1200 let alone an A Series rant finished You can view topic.
