A serviceable location for an oil filter...wow!!!

Looks like a normal engine after all the plastic and pipes are removed.

Good Luck with the project.

I was more worried about the fact the water inlet and outlet was at the back of engine. Z20 flywheel should match up with the crank . After having a looker at an S15 gearbox it looks to close to call so I will need to line them up together. Will do what I can with my limited funds I have for the time being. Throwing alot of money at my 240C daily ATM.

i spoke with my nissan guru mate and turns out he's the guy who may have been the original source of d's info about the terrible rod/stroke ratio of the qr25

his estimation is that the qr was originally designed by nissan engineers to be a 2.0, but marketing demanded a torquey 2.5 to please the smiths

so they cobbled it together, much the same way guys put z24 cranks in l20b's and thought there was no replacement for displacement

The engine has been test fitted to the 180B. It looks like quite a large chunk of work to say the least. While I was at it I also decided just to see how it would go into the 120Y.

Would of sat in the 120Y engine bay snuggly if not for the sway bar.

Looks like there is plenty of room in the B210 for this QR engine. But if I understand that picture, you need to drop the steering linkage down (re-weld as u-shape?) or fit [Rack and Pinion steering gearbox.

Hey DD.

Problem lays with the anti-sway bar. Steering looks promising too clear.

I'm not happy with the engine for the 180B, the engine looks far to small in the engine bay. The QR may find it's way into a KB210 if I don't see it though in the B.

Sorry about the poor picture quality. I was caput after lifting the engine in there. FYI. Bare engine weights in at about 80kg.

I really like the thought of this engine being 80kg

Is there a way to find out? It would make an excellent replacement for the A series.

If it is around 80kgs it can drop further with alloy crank pulley and knife edged crank.

Any luck with the rwd gearbox matchup?

regards, d.
