bugger off the cheap temp guage !!!! are you still using the orig in dash guage at the same time ?? if not re connect the orig sender so the dash temp guage works, put all the other bits and pieces back together and test it again ... or buy a decent guage and install and see what happens ....

if everything else is all on and working and flowing and pressurising go back to the most obvious .... the guage !!????

Also too advanced, are your timing marks correct... It may read correctly with the timing light but are the marks in the right spot?

not being smart but if you removed the thermostat not all but some eng's will overheat because without it the water flows to quick through the rad. i don't know what eng you have but is thermostat off set type if it is must be fitted correctly [usually valve oppeisit rad hose]for flow other wise it restricts the flow out of the eng. to preasure flush eng you use a special multi sized rubber fitting that has hose &air fittings attached to it, it fit's inside your rad hoses but must be done in the right direction with thermostate out no air preasure greather than 18-21 psi app..VERY DANGERIOUS EXP NEEDED YOU CAN F RAD OR HURT YOUR SELF ...@@???.dose's the rad get preasure in it before it get's warmed up if it dose's i'd say head gasket don't check to soon though it mite only be slight leak,BETWEEN ALL OF US WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SORT IT OUT . BY FOR NOW

using both gauges, stock and aftermartket... and they both say damn hot!

going to take it to mechanics tomorrow to check timing properly as the markes may be wrong. he reckons we check that as well as maybe some chemiweld to see if it is the head gasket.....

reading up on clutch fans though and they reckon this could be a symptom of the fan past the end of its usefull life too.

only removed the thermosat to check if that was prehaps a problem... replaced it again and still did it so thats not the issue.

Mine was always running a little hotter than I liked for it too. That was after I had swapped the head to a closed chamber head, just to see what it would do . I just had to put in a new timming chain & gears , so I swapped back to the open chamber head , I have'nt had a heating prob yet . matter of fact running too cool now ?????????????????

Have you checked if the welsh plugs have been pushed into the block when sumone has changed them last. i have seen a few people do this before and it causes restrictions in the coolant passages. just a thought. i havnt seen an a12 for a while so i cant remember if they do have welsh plugs in the side of the block but it may be worth checking.

matty basically using a piece of paper to see which way the air is flowing through your radiator from your fans.. it sometimes feels right when u put your hand there but the paper doesnt lie!

with the thermostat out it will heat up at medium to high revs as the water will be traveling to fast to cool down
