it is illigal to paint acylic or 2pac in a resudental area. But everybody does it. 2pac must also be sprayed in a booth and you must be wearing a air fed mask as it is poisonous. That and it takes a little while to dry and anything blowing around will stick to it. Acylic dries almost instantly. Ive sprayed 1 1/2 cars in acylic at home.

acrylic will get you a good finish from the back yard/shed better than most cheap cars. Also i found there is more light painting outside and i prefer it/extra space. Just use good quality clear and it will buff up nice! ive done 4 home paint jobs and it comes down to practise/trial and error, #### my first paint job on the mini was described as DUDE DID YOU PAINT THAT WITH YOUR PUBES by people who saw it before buffed but even that polished up nice!

You can spray primer just about anywhere as it gets sanded down. Minor surface dust isn't a big problem.
Having a bug land in it is a pisser, though... I've actually had that happen.

it is illegal to do it ur back yard because of the fumes and stuff and if the epa catch ya ur ####ed. it pays to hire a booth and spray it there. yes acrylic is good for home jobs but is a #### material to try and paint over(2pac doesnt like bonding to it) found that out the hard way at work one day. yeah you can say i painted this at home but will it really turn out as good as a spray booth job?
you also need a completely clean environment which is why the booth is good.
