Now you guys are getting me excited.

I've been playing a bit of GTR2, really nice game. As you can download all the Australian tracks we can get some free practice in on them.

EDIT - just checked out GTR2 - looks amazing - downloading the demo now.

Hmmm... how does an Advan Sunny Coupe sound???.

MMmmmm Advan Sunny Coupe...drool

dats1200 a ute would be cool as well.

There is another racing sim called rFactor which is apparently easier to mod than GTR2....I have it installed but haven't mucked around with it yet.

GTR2 is very good, difficult to stop playing it to test something else.

I'm not sure how hard it is to do....but I know you would have to model the suspension, brakes, aero, body, weight, engine power....could be tricky...

That's not bad for $140 considering how much work would've gone into it...

I'll check out rFactor aswell. I found some forums for modding GTR2 and got hold of a program to import my models into it.

You're right about the suspension etc, but that is probably a scripting thing rather than 3d modelling. We could test drive and tune at the same time

Sounds promising TnPshow....I'll happily test drive a Datsun around Sandown and Phillip Island, as I've drive a Datsun around Sandown and hope to do so again in the near future!

Also I'm contacting another user who I think has a lot of Datsun blueprints...for dats1200

Cool - if you can score some decent hi res blueprints of a coupe, let me know

...or I might just wing it like I normally do...

Cheers,

Terry

Cheers mildman, im having no luck finding drawings or blueprints for the ute, I wonder if there is a top/front/side on the brochure?
The picture in that thread "tell him he's dreamin" I saw top front side views on one of the brochures, not of a ute though....

... Might start modelling another datto while im searching...

Here's hoping we can find some blueprints!

Man GTR2 is hard with all the traction control and ABS turned off, if you don't give it something like 15% throttle as you come off the brakes heading to the apex then the car gets unsetted and understeers (much like in real life).

Pretty good sim - would be cool if we had some Datto models to drive!

Not a ute, but not bad for a model:

Might use it as a start for the Advan Sunny

Does anyone have a hard copy of this they can do a hi-res scan of for me? Particularly the blueprint in the bottom right corner?
