comparing to other cars on the same dyno is not a good idea since we have no idea on their particulars. for eg the ca that made 307, what has been done to it, what boost is it running?? all cars could have had exagerated figures compared to mods.
you mentioned it was tuned the week before, what did it make then and was it on the same dyno? the 195 carby set-up is again very impressive!

This is some really good ####.... I would imagine the pistons being of a bit higher strength. he is running at about the boost levels I'm at and I'm pretty sure my A15 is not even in the parking lot of that ball-park.
I can not imagine how porting can make such a massive difference. but from that video, the way the run sounded, you can actually see that it is making massive power, and for it to pull through 3rd that fast.... so fast that some might even think it 2nd gear.... that to me, said it all... even if the actual figures are off.... that thing kicks ASS big-time....

The pistons should be preserved for posterity. I don't doubt that this engine pushed out that record power figure on that dyno, but I do have my suspicions about it being on a "stock, old smokey A12 bottom end" Sorry for the scepticism, but it's just a bit hard to grasp.

well my computers to slow for me to watch the video
but dodgeman has a good point about the bottom end, my brother managed to kill the rings and crack the ring journals off one of the pistons in his healthy 3tc when it was under somewhere between 10-15psi but the first few seconds of that video made the car look nice and powerful

My comments are based on the description provided, which leads me to assume that a well used, original A12 short block was pulled from under the bench & fitted with all the goodies, but did not receive so much as a re-ring, bore hone or replacement bearings, so we don't even want to mention a balance job.
Just a stock, old smokey A12 bottom end.

thats absolutly correct...
a dirty old bog stock a12 bottom end, cast pistons, definatly no balancing.... i will have a pic of the mighty beast when it comes out for the a14 engine..

Are you sure it is the standard A12 cylinder head?
Not maybe a Big port GX or A15 cylinder head fitted? If it is true, congratulations. I just wonder, how long will the engine last with that power figure and boost level. Now that is a thought. Before you put in the A14, won't you play a bit with the car and see how long the A12 last? Take to a drag race event or something. Give it some hammering and test for us the reliability factor.

Are you sure it is the standard A12 cylinder head? i think he has already stated that it has had porting and valve work. it is the bottem end that is standard You can view topic.
