pigdog, it won't cost you much at all, just food and accom which there are plenty of cheap options for. you gotta make it!

would be easy if i had some kind of income
but i dont....so its hard enough to find myself $40 a week for fuel to get to uni

as much as i would like to go, i dont see myself getting a job before easter

get on ebay and sell something! you seem to have about forty million cars and bits, just get some stuff you don't need and ebay it. always works for me

And now that im in melbourne, missing out on datnats seems just plain stupid! Although i dont have a car anymore i mite just hitch a lift... Hmm who to scab off

is there anythin like datnats in queensland.. i could never drive that far. even if my ute was aircon if there was another way, i would be there without question

What's the problem? Some time back I drove from Pyramid Hill in central Victoria into Melbourne. Then visited some friends there, followed by a trip straight through to Port Maquarie NSW, stopping only for fuel.

That was back in '86 & the roads are a lot wider, straighter & smoother now.

Total distance, over 1,700k [about 1,060 miles] in one day in a basically stock '73 model 1200 Ute with original seats, no aircon, but with AM radio, & original rear springs with no load in the back to soften the ride.
It CAN be done.

If you plan for a two day trip, your smooth ridin', fast travelin' & comfy seated Ute should have you there all cool & refreshed, & at the event in plenty of time.

yeah, its only a 3630km round trip.
thats the shortest way there on the crappy road inland route too thru the kangaroo infested north of nsw.
whats the problem??

the problem is, the furtherest iv been out of queensland is pottsville lol.. i would need a posse to drive down with. and im flat out seeing any dattos here, let alone orginise a cruise. i might have to try something next year. when i give my motor a full recon with all the goodies
