Hey fellas.

Just after some opinions / Info on the DATSPORT R32 Skyline strut / disc conversion.
http://www.datsport.com/R32Z_CO_DS.html
The guys put some pretty good packages together for the 1600's and this conversion suits the 1200 as well.

Has anybody got this installed in their 1200?

I will probably need to install something like this to have any hope of legally putting a SR20DET / 13BT in the ute

I am interested in getting something like this that has all the work and machining already done as I live in a pretty remote area of WA, to get parts machined or modified etc you usually have to send it to perth or send it over to eastern states.

This bolt in kit looks to be the way to go to avoid hassles.

Any ideas

I havent used them specifically but yes these are excellent strut and brake packages for your 1200.
The brakes would be just superb and the inserts and springs are also well matched, however the downside is price Ive heard they are around $3k for the pair 9dont quote me) Im hoping they are less Id love them for my street car ....

Yeh they are around $3k,
I'm not sure but I think after you hunt around and buy all the bits, reco the bits you can't get new, plus the cost of making it all fit together, it would probably cost about the same, plus a lot of hassles doing it?

What sort of wheels would you need to clear those huge brakes though?

Do you know of any similar Rear brake conversions? Or is it just easier to get a tough diff that already has discs?

you would need a 16inch wheel minimum.

Being a 4 stud hub you may also have trouble finding 16's that clear the caliper on the front face as well as being the right offset to clear the strut.

You might have to custom order a set of rims to suit.

This is the problem the guys with S13's have when they put the 4 spot calipers on their 4 stud hubs. This is the reason most go with the 5 stud conversion at the same time to increase wheel options.

yeah a good rear brake converstion is to do a cut down VL commodore or Hilux diff and have an large range of LSD options as well.
You can also get a disc brake rear and match your stud patterns. I would go for the commodore 5 stud due to the large range of options in wheels you have at your disposal.
