Has anybody bought any of the gasket kits off Ebay from the two sellers in Thailand? Both of them seem to sell the same kits - front & rear window seals, both doors & trunk ( or bonnet as you in OZ might say).

I'm not sure why I'm more skeptical of both kits then say from Scotts in AU but i am. They both swear they fit properly & their very cheap compared to one guy in California I can buy the front seal from & Scotts. Their about a $110 to $150 US for the kit compared to about $200 for ft. & rear from Scotts. Other then these guys I haven't found anybody else who sells then.

Anybody have any luck with these guys?

I did find about 9 new coupe windshields in the states though & bought one. They were pretty reasonable considering how rare they are here, $250 including freight. If anybody wants to know where they are let me know.

Evan

Yes, please! My windshield is not cracked, but after 35 years, it is so pitted that if you drive into the sun, it's VERY difficult to see through. PM me if you wish. Thanks!

No experience with the seals, but I did buy some of the pedal pads from one vendor in Thailand, and had no problems at all with delivery.

I'll post it here for all to see. Interestingly enough the glass industry was pretty smart & standardized its parts codes so no matter who you call & have look it up the #'s the same, doesnt matter what glass mfg. made it. Quite smart of them.

Plikilton Classics 1-800-848-1351
3 coupe WS in Ohio

PPG Vintage 1-877-855-8100
4 in Denver i think is what they said.

Window code for a coupe - FW-237
" " " sedan - FW238 - NONE AVILABLE thru either source, I tried for ddgonzal.

Pilkinton was slightly cheaper, not much but I'm sure their the same WS.

All blue tint meaning UK specs verses green tint for US. The glass looks great & I have to assume it'll fit, dont know yet though.

I have bought a complete set of seals for my 4 door sedan.I haven't fitted them yet, because my car is still being restored. The door and trunk seals were Nissan items,so I don't expect any problems there. The front and rear windscreen seals were reproduction items. As the glass is still on the car at the moment,I just placed them over the originals on the car to check the dimensions (not so easy to do alone).Height was OK,width seemed a little short (front and rear),but I suppose and hope the seals will stretch that much.I paid around 180 euros for the complete set delivered to my door,a joke compared to the usual prices here (and supposing somebody at Nissan Belgium would even care to check the availability of the parts). To keep the costs down a little the set was sent by surface mail,so it took almost three months to get here. But one has to expect that from surface mail, and I am not in a hurry,so no problem. They seem to have a few nice things available there in Thailand,I have bought the seals and a couple of badges and so far had no problem at all with any of the sellers there.Hope this helps.

Bonnet = Hood in US speak
The word 'boot' refers to the luggage carrying compartment that was originally called 'boot' in US stage coaches, which incidentally, were right drive, as were all early US cars, & this was finally phased out by 1922.
The word 'trunk' did not replace 'boot' in the US untill people started fitting trunks to the luggage racks of their Automobiles in the teens & twenties.

So there you go, in the US, the boot was known as the boot, which was changed to trunk later on. We still call this luggage compartment the 'boot' here in Australia.

I bought four new old stock hubcaps for the Fairlady from one of the Thailand Datsun sellers and I was very happy with the deal.
