Hello 1200 Ute fella's,(Welcome) i also have a 1200 ute 1980 model thats being painted in two weeks.(can't wait) Its my first ute also and im building an A14 turbo. (for that little extra pep) but webbers and engine work goes very well too. With the seats you can use almost any that you like just use the 1200 rails to bolt them back in. One thing is keep in mind your limited for room. Some datto boys here have used all sorts of seats. i've fitted early supra seats in mine. I have a spare A14 up for grabs It comes with an oval port head (long motor)PM me if your interested.

The room thing is a bit of an issue for me. so i dont want to use seats that take up to much room because my legs are already up and around the steering wheel

I will look into the racing style of seats and find out so more info.

Thanks for your help fella's

I would recommend fishnet recaros as they have the benefit of having a see through headrest, without that, the blind spot on these utes is a killer.

Mate i'm 6'5" and i've got nissan exa seats in my ute. Not 100% sure what year but they are grey, slightly bucket and just bolted onto the original rails onto the floor. They are fine for me. super high back too with a nice headrest and because they are so low to the floor i have no real blindspot issues, no more than usual anyways.
