New tyres?

Hey everyone,
I'm going to get some new rear tyres for the ute this week. Just wondering what you would recommend. Haven't had to replace any tyres on the ute yet, so I haven't been able to mix and match. I'd like something fairly soft and sticky (if there's such a thing) as a result I'm aware that these sorts of things would wear quicker but that's ok with me. Don't mind paying a bit extra for a quality product either. Current tyres are 175/70/R13 What would you recommend?

Are you asking for a brand recomendation??
I have had a good run out of Bridgestones but that may be just me. Brand is soooo much personal choice. One thing I would recomend, work out what you want from the tyre (grip, noise, mileage etc) and tell the salesman when you go to tyre shops. They are the best people to recommend their wares. And Shop Around, plenty of bargains to be had at the right time.

Yokohama make a road legal tyre called the AO32R, they will deliver what you are after.

i'm in the same situation, i need rear tyres, toyo Proxes T1-R these are the tyres that was suggested to me, @ 195 50 15" @ $155ea. i wanted mickey thompson ET street but i can't get a tyre to suit, i need traction

I wouldn't listen to the tyre shop people......they tend to know didly squat about tyres.......always trying to sell you what ever they get the biggest margin out off..
I don't know if they are still available (most tyre shops will so no so ring Yokohama direct) Yokohama A539's...they are no longer on their website so maybe u can't buy em  These tyres are unreal.. THe other Yokos mentioned may also be worth looking into..

The yoky a539's have been superseded by the yokohama c drives afaik.. I used to have a539s and i can say with confidence that the C-drives are as good if not better. They also make an A-drive which is one step above the c drives but they are pretty exy..

You can't go past a great set of Barums on your ute. They are South African and provide a wonderful balance between long life and soft compound. I have used them successfully both on the road and the racetrack where my car was driven to an outright class win... unfortunately with another driver and member of this site at the wheel. But that is another story much too painful to discuss here.
Anyway they produce more smoke than a bushfire in February and get rid of more water than an elephant with a bladder control problem. And they cost about $180... for a set of four. Fitted and balanced.
