OK, so it doesn't look much now, but that will change soon enough.

bumped into an old mate at QR last weekend who I sold my previous 120Y coupe to about 5 yrs ago. my old 120Y coupe
another shot of my previous 120Y coupe

As luck would have it he had another one for sale. He still has my old coupe in the shed too. I also got my old Folk racing wheels back that he bought off me, and a 180B x-member for the conversion.

Its a pretty sound car, with only a few bits of rust. Way better than my 1200 was when I started!

Plan is for a hot under 1600cc L16 engine and try and get it ready by next year to make a few trips down south for some supersprints and hillclimbs with the 1200.com crew down there. Should fire up some L vs A series rivalry to have one running in their class!

Fantastic Harry! Like most others who had met you and your car I hoped you would be back out in a 70's Datto one day. Your concept is perfect - the L vs. A with equal capacity and car weight. Look forward to the build and outcome. Cracker mate!

I'm sure it will be a weapon!!
I really hope you do come down. It might encourage me to pull my finger out and have a race too.
PS: I love friendly rivalry. Go the a-series!

Harry, go the whole hog, 2.4 litre l20b, that's what i'd do. It only puts you in with the rotaries. How could they stand up to the might of a grunter 120y. That's what i want to do to the Sunny coupe with the L18 me & Garry are just finishing off. I already have the z24 motor for the crank, & I was at Stewart Wilkins today & there were so many l20 blocks kicking round he wouldn't miss just one, I'm sure. Or maybe a turbo L18, that'd put you just under 3 litres.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

Let me see,... 120Y + L series = Excelent.
Excellent by name & Excellent by nature, but with 120Y sheet metal, it's excellence is under disguise.

His Excellency has arrived! [sorry mate, I get a bit carried away at times]
