Hey this may be a really stupid question but i'm gonna ask it anyway...

I'm trying to fit some TRX rims to my 1200 Ute which has had the 120y conversion...

Like many other people have ran into difficulties as the top of the wheel scrubs against the strut...

Would there be a possibility of changing the hub to something that may be a little thicker... Therefore a more legal way of spacing the wheel away from the strut...

I'm trying to avoid spacers at this stage...

or you could just get rid of the 120y struts and get some bigger ones that the mags will fit straight onto

your going to increase track width either way

TRX mags are the bomb.....apperently

I was under the impression that with the stanza struts you get a fair bit of bump stop??

Correct me if I'm wrong?

I've done a bit of searching around and there seems to be debate where ever you look with the strut conversions...

what is best conversion in other peoples opinions and why... Also shirley how much were you wanting for the stanza struts shoot me a pm if u like.

I Thought that there may be a chance that you could easily swap the hub over and be done with it...

And yeah i guess that the TRX aren't that special but they are what i have until i want to upgrade and spend money on my rims i want to work on other things first...

These things become special real fast when the piggy bank looks as fat as a supermodel & you have a set leaning against the wall.

TRX wheels are a good compromise between cheap steel wheels & flash, chrome stuff from the bling shop.

What's actually rubbing on the strut, the wheel, or the tyre?

I'm pretty sure it was just the tyre that was rubbing i think the rim was clear but only bit a squeeze.

Tyre size?
It's OK to run a narrower tyre on the front, & if a smaller size allows you to use these wheels then there's a possible solution

hey mate
i have the same problem

and i have 15x4 front runners.
120y disc brake struts.

Im getting spacers welded to the back of the rims then balanced.

For some reason 1 is closer then the other
i have put washers for now to see how thick the spacer has to be and its about
20mm 1 side
15mm the other

Also on the back im running
205x65x15

the rubber just misses the leaf
I might get rear wheels modified to.

Lots of people run spacers
when u go 2 a big tyre shop in syd
half the time theyput spaceres in when u buy wheels.

i think the only bad thing rego wise is they have to be part of the rim or part of the hub
Dont think it can be loose

Some1 else may be able to comment on legalness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some 1 else may have other EASY ideas around it.

I have 15''x4'' rim
with 115x70 tyre

And outer rim hits strut not tyre

I tried 17 with 205 tyre and the same problem

And my 15'' rims are half the width.lol.
