i'm doubtful if a former forum member will ever get this setup running, but what do you fellas think of it on an L18?

well that manifold won't work too well on an L18...

I'd rather have the SU's.

Matt.......I like it for those of us with LHD cars this is a way to get around having to move the brake master. I saw a double 32/36 up on Ford 2.3 once and it seemed to work reeeeally well.

It looks expensive, and thirsty!
I think I'd rather have a single 50mm sidedraght if there is clearance problems with twins.

Left hand drive cars have problems with the carbs hitting the brakemaster cylinder.

am I missing something? this kit just puts different carbs in the same spot as the SUs. how does that help clearance problems

The problem for those of us in the US is that the rear carb on GX set up ends up 2 inches from the brake reservoir. Running air filters becomes a problem which using the remote reservoirs solves for the Hitachi SU's but in order to run sidedraughts the master cylinder must be moved.
This set-up points the carbbies up so the fact that they are 1/2 from the master cylinder doesn't cuase the flow problems we have.

yeah but i still think they will foul as they're bolted up to an su intake

there's another american 1200 owner running dual downdraught webers but on a custom (short) intake, and that setup works great
