deffinately don't bolt through the floor, not strng enough, the meta would twist or contort. yeah three mm sounds about rte, when you put your taishaft in it wont move at all, just vibrate a little bit. it sure does sound like your putting in alot of effort for a cross member, i just used pipe ha ha

I personally wouldnt bolt it through the floor unless you plan to somehow re-enforce it. I would goto the original boltholes.
If you have the standard crossmember for the T50 that should have a rubber between the box and the x-member. Thats all you need. i would say 3mm is thick enough for a gearbox x-member, but you may want to measure the factory one just to be sure.

Hey guys
i have a 4age engine with a t40/t50 box. I currently have the steel mounts that are straight and are bolted to the gearbox. I plan to put gearbox in place and bend some other THINNER metal as a template for each side then get bent at the correct angle to end up flat on the floor. I have to get mopunts bent as there about 5 10 mm thick. QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am i on the rite track??? Do you need to run rubbers? and do they go where the mount bolts to box or floor??? Any suggestions on where to get correct rubbers???? And should i make another plate that conects the 2 mounts together fo support??? And if so where is the stongest part to conect the 2??? I was thinking somewhere on the flat part where bolts to floor and make a big bend 2 go around the box and conect at same flat part on both sides..... If some1 has done this before i would love your help 2 answer some of my questions. Also WANTED booster 120y 180b 200b 1200 ute door glass Pm me with price with postage PLEASE thanks every1 You can view topic.
