anyone can do a r31 for me? ill pay

diff isnt that hard to do. take the longer axel out, chop it th diff down by 100mm (from memory) with a metal cutting drop saw, send the axel to an engineering mob for bit ova 100 buks they'll chop it by exactly 100mm and respline it for ya.

(i think i may have made that sound rediculously simple, but honestly it aint that hard so long as u get ure measurement correct and cut square you'll b sweet)

i should obviously add, weld the diff back together square. and mount it. seriouslythough, not a difficult job, (just get the axel done by someone)

Yeah i recently purchased a R31 diff from the wrecker here for $100 and am planing on fitting it to my ute.. The ute is goin to be mainly used for straight line action so i was thinking of fitting a detroit locker.

Just wondering if anyone has fitted one in there diff and what they are like ta drive..
I had a CIG ( welded ) diff in my 1600 and it wore the front tyres like a bitch..
Just after your thoughts

geez only cutting one side down 100mm, sure that got it right

when i did mine i cut the long side down 50mm and use the short axel in it, then cut the short side down 85mm and got the long axel cut down 135mm, and that was to get the diff 20mm wider than standard

and if you cut and re weld you should really get the diff straightened, i pressed the axel tubes out of my diff, cut them down and pressed them back in.....the hard way
