Ive been havig problems getting my new Weber 32/36 attached to my 79 b310 (a14). I took the EGR off to fit the carb on, hoping when I put it back on it would fit. I was wrong. It's really close, so I'm wondering if I could grind into the housing a bit. I'm just learning stuff about cars so I could be way off here. What should I do?

yup take it off and make a blanking plate if need be. All it does is reduce immisions. Or buy a set of extracters for your car!

yeah you could try grinding the case away a bit at least if you stuff it up it doesn't really matter too much if it is not connected
