It's not a J series as the J13/15 have a tall pressed metal rocker cover similar to the A series engines. Reminds me a lot of a mitsi motor maybe a 1400/1600 galant engine or vaguely an isuzu gemini motor?

looks to be a g16/g18/g20 from a skyline or laurel
a cross-flow engine developed by pmc about the same time as the l-series why prince needed two 4cyl engines at the same time is anyone's guess

It's definitely a 1000 ute. The engine is familiar but I can't remember why. It's not a J series and for some reason I keep thinking an old Prince motor.

Hey Just wondering if anyone could tell me what engine this is....
Meant to be a stocker a12 out of a 1200 Ute... But.... it aint  But the ute looks like a 1000 if it's a datsun at all....
