I think the driver's attitude is the biggest factor in determing whether you get hassled by the cops or not. Fair enough everyone can get unlucky, but if your doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, you'll be the one that gets done.

I always get pulled over for random breath and license tests and things (really random ) but have never got done

a few months back the cops set up a defect line on the highway pulling every car over and defecting all the vehicles they could, i was packing big bricks in my jocks cos i only have 1 point left on my licence and they could have got me for a number of things like seats rims engine mods and probly a number of other things on my ute, and the cops just smiled and said nice ute. the guy infront had a nice as monaro and defected him and the guy behind me in a merc got doneover too, must have been my lucky day or somthing

I saw your car at the last JCCS in Long Beach. It's nicer than my 1200

maybe it's because it's the rattiest car around here. I live in a very upscale ghetto, all my neighbors have nicer cars, though i don't know how...

I was pulled over recently and notified that my registration had been expired for 6 months!

I was very polite to the officer and explained that I have quite a few cars and I just didn't notice it. He let me go with the promise that I would immediately take care of it.

I went to the DMV and they told me that there was a paperwork error on their part, so they didn't charge me any late fees or back registration.

I was plesantly surprised as my usual experiences with the Police and DMV are usually very different.

I haven't got hassled in the coupe in a long time, same with the sedan, however the coupe has a turbo muffler and 2" piping. the sedan has a stock exhaust. I'm sure if I was crusing or running around where the nightly hotspots (i.e. movie theaters and certain hangouts) I probably would. I haven't really ran into anybody in a minute who actually knows what my 1200 is, (no badges). However I would bet I would get pulled over if I was in the rich areas .

Neil,
You failed to mention if this was in Burbank or in the Los Angeles area. If it was in L.A. you should see how bad it is for pedestrians around downtown after the May 1st melee or pinata beating of nonviolent demonstators! I think they are trying to generate revenue for the lawsuits they are facing!
As far as being pulled over by law enforcement in any of my Datsuns...only during my university days back in the early eighties!
I was always running late and speeding to school
