Su's over Webers for performance?????
I'm getting the impression you haven't driven a well sorted Weber fed car Sidedraft? Edit: Sorry, just realised you were comparing SU's to a single downdraft in which case I tend to agree that th SU's would be the better option.

i would throw the SUs over the webbers into the bin for performance....ive noticed a huge difference going from SUs that were designed for the engine to untuned dellortos (as in standard alfa jetting and mixtures screws just turned one turn out)

i wouldn't throw the su's .... remember unfam's wallet is usually pretty light ... and the driving ability ... and the tyre selection ...

Try and get maximum tune out of it as it currently is.
Does'nt help you try and improve on a engine that does'nt deliver from the start. Maybe something small is wrong. Look at timing and your SU's. What is the precise specs of the engine and current tuning settings.(timing,etc) Did you have a gas analizer into the exhaust while the run was done?

tried to scan my run but cant find power cable for the scanner.
had analyser in for the run (same as boofheads). fromm 200 rpm drops from 10.5 to 10 at 2500rpm then climbs to 11 at3250rpm then domn again to 10.5 at 400rpm then up and up and up to 12.6 at 5200rpm. 2nd run was a lillte wose at top end only 12.0 af ratio Power is very liner from 200 to 5200 (a litlle jump at top but not as jumpy as boofs).

haha just read the 10 degrees of timing...i think last time we did mine we thought that 20 was a nice round figure

and yes , im extremly tight.... seeing i cant fit a wallet in my skirt when my other1/2 is wearing the pants with my wallet.
yeah 10 deg was set in summer, probably cause i had the over heating issues then and was worried it was pinging in 40deg days... might try this first agin.....
