What are the smallest diameter tires available these days? I want a set lower than stock.

Have you checked tirerack.com? I'm using sumitomo 175/50/13's which have a smaller profile than the stock 12's. They were $36 each. I'm told they are meant for mini coopers. I don't know how the diameter compares exactly, but the dimensions for these tires are listed at the tirerack site.

I once ran a set a set of 145/70/12's. They looked silly, but It could climb hills in 4th gear. (With a very slogged out A12)

175 50 r 13 is smallest 13 available i found in aus, found 165/55/r13 as well which is the one i want.

they are designed for minis and can get a 165/55r12 too.

found a pair of 195/45r13 on my travels as well but rip off wanted $295 per tyre!

picked up 2 165/55r13 for cost. so only $70 each. not bad.

I just took off a set of stock 12" wheels for a 1200. Don`t need them anymore, even have (3) matching hub caps. If anyone is in need let me know

According to my calculations, in theory they should be about 45mm lower OD than standard.
