The price sounds reasonable for those who would be serious about this. You definitely deserve some praise for doing this.

I think offer is not bad at all.
But think it this way: If we get 40 orders then the price would be only 450euros / 608.86 USD / 726.74 AustralianD for head+cover! And thats cheap for something like this! And remember that no porting is needed, so that saves a lot also! Now we need just to get all enthusiasts aware of this.

the more I read this post the more interested I become. I think I need to go check the bank account and see if the accountant (Wife) will allow the funds to be used.

![]() holy cow! figures that alan uk z guru would have a pic of the ay. where on earth did you find that? the dizzy has some sort of 100 degree angle adapter but the dizzy cap seems to be four plug, but of course we can't see where the true source of the mystery 5-8 wires perhaps alan has a clue? LTR, you're manufacturing them from blueprints? or from just pictures?

You have my undivided attention.
While many are thinking 'race engine' I'm thinking, 'what a cool street engine it would make' There wouldn't be many who could identify it when you opened the bonnet at a car display somewhere. Please keep the info coming, including some pictures of your sample head when you get it. EDIT Matt, all of the plug leads come from the distributor cap, but there is obviously some significance in the fact that every second 'boot' on the distributor cap is red. This twin Solex manifold must be the 'standard' fitment. The factory loved Solex's back then, but the other 'big two' would work just as well. ![]()

What do you mean by blueprints?
The head + cover will be made by modelling from an original one. And I want it to be 100% same as the orig. one. Only the material is propably better than then.. that needs to be tested also when I get the head. I'm not going to go into that at everyone have their own name on the cover or something like that. My own car has proved itself to me and all the other who race the same class. The only problem is that when the road gets big enough it doesnt has the power needed. And this will solve it out.

Long time since I popped in to this place but this subject demands my full attention! Very interesting pictures. It's the first time I've seen the distributor drive setup on an AY, although sadly it leaves us none the wiser as to the plug lead arrangement.
If you can get 40 orders then I'm in for sure. Not sure I could stretch to 900 euros unfortunately. -Ed

Thanks for coming and sharing this with us mate! I think the price is quite reasonable for what it is. If there was a way to let our fellow Japanese datto enthusaists know about it I think we could get the numbers. If we got to 40 I would be quite keen, as would my uncle for the rally car.
Cheers!

That's a great price considering I've seen the elusive raised intake port head like Feral has nearly double that. I'm still interested. once there's some pictures, etc. I'll ask around to my Japanese friends and see if they're interested.
