You need to extend the stick from the pivot point to the ball in order for this to work.

It needs to be extended the same distance as the pivot is raised on the box.

yep ... if you lift the pivot 3cm you need to extend the bit below it 3cm ....
if you can successfully make one of these puppies i'd be real keen for one

How could i make a short shifter without cutting the actual stick? Would i just have to raise the point that pivots and add a peice to the bottom part? So if i raise the pivot part 3cm, i would have to add 3cm to the bit that goes into the gearbox. If that makes any sense haha.
