Got and installed my cam today its a wade 471c/477c

This all means nothing to me, does anyone have a link or can explain briefly how it all works and how to read the specs. Anyone have any thoughts on the cam, is it mild or wild?
Its running with stock valve springs, lash pads, cam sprocket etc, looks like springs get close to binding, its thrown the ecu into caos runs stupid rich on steady throttle and full throttle, feels a LOT slower than stocka cam so hopefully nothings wrong just needs a tune

Did you dial in the cam?
12thou seems a bit tight for valve lash on a forced motor.
What is the lobe seperation?

Dont have an adjustable cam gear so cant dial in any adjustment, do you think this could be a problem? That is all the specs that were given so dont no the seperation, is this seperation like the overlap? Thanks, Will

The lobe seperation isn't critical, I was just curious.
Is it a reground cam, or a custom new unit?
When a camshaft is reground, the point in it's rotation when the valve begins to open is changed. This can mean that intake or exhaust cycle can begin too soon, or too late. This can have an adverse effect on the engines running characteristics.
if your engine has computerised management, depending on what mapping sensors it uses, the ecu might struggle to adapt to the engines new air flow behaviors. If the valve timing is too far advanced or retarded, then a probelm such as this might be exassabated. (spelling)
I know bugger all about ecu's and such so I can't say too much more with any authority.

Its a reground standard cam done by wade, yea it would change the vac signals slightly at a guess and the ecu may give the wrong fuel and ign timing.

why would your cam lift be different for intake and exhaust??

my cam is from watson racing. specs..

lift .260"

tappet clearence is basically the same

i dont understand your duration figures, my are

intake open 30
intake close 65

exhaust open 70
exhaust close 30

you can see no overlap. seems to work very well

Might be somethink do do with it being a turbo grind maybe, yea im used to seeing specs like 30/65 etc buggered if i no what my duration means but id guess there wouldnt be much any overlap because its turbo. Seems to be a bit of lift, dunno why cam and valve lift are different, would have thought the cam would push down the same amount the valves would go down?

mine is a turbo cam and yes turbos dont require overlap. have you had it running?

oh ok didnt realise that, i guess it is a little strange that there different then, yes its running but not too well because its thrown out the tune a bit. Its in at the workshop now for a retune etc. It felt a lot ####ter to drive and i couldnt detect any lumpyness at all so id doubt its much different probably just more lift. Ill have to set it up properally some time as the cam lobes dont hit dead centre of the rockers need thicker lash pads i reckon. $195 for a cam wheel thats adjustable, however furked if id no how to set it up...
