HI,

Currently i have a 1979 datsun 1200 ute on blocks.
I converted the diff using an r31/ shortened rear diff. But now i am after a front brake conversion. I am looking for an easy way to beef up the front end from the CONTROL ARMS OUT to stub axels. Any suggestion's with your experiences would be good. Purchasing it new from maddat is a bit to expensive for me. I am in australia and there are many wreckers.

Get yourself Stanza or sunny control arms, steering arms, new stanza or sunny outer tierods and balljoints, (use your radius rods).

Then you can bolt any 76+ 120y, Sunny, Stanza strut in your car using a 1200 strut top.

If you want 180b, 200b, 280zx, R31 (R31 you need a ring made up to take up difference in the locating ring on the steering arm) (240, 260, 280z dont fit - different strut bolt pattern to steering arm) you'll have to remove the spring perch and use a weld on coilover kit or use a Sunny or stanza spring perch.

Cheers

Actually, you may be able to bolt these struts to your steering arm because its a later model ute, you would probably have a lot of positive camber though, the stanza / sunny lower arms give you about 16mm extra track either side.
