When you say A12, do you mean 1974 & later A12, or 1970 to '73 Datsun 1200 engine?
You also mention a coolant inlet on the right side of the engine, but there is no coolant inlet on the right, It's on the left of the engine.

From what I can make of it, you are probably trying to use the alternator bracket from your original 1200 engine, which is mounted on the left side of the block, & trying to fit it to the airconditoner compressor mounting boss' which are also on the left side of an A15 engine.
Different setup altogether & as you have discovered, it won't fit up.
The [1974 onwards] A12 alternator, is of course in the same place as the A15.

Right & left are always determined as if siting in the car unless specifically mentioned otherwise. After all, our cars are 'right drive'.

As far as i know all Nissan light vehicle wheel studs are the same M12x1.25, just the lengths that vary.

They are the same as S13, 10mm more than standard.

r31 pintara and skyline studs are probably the same length as s13....if not longer

Cefiro wheel studs are complete sh1t. They break off while you wait, and the gnurling that is intended to hold them in the hub doesn't.

I wonder if I could swap the studs on my S13 and ute

being the nice guy i am, i thought some of you out there might want to hear this.
Its nothing big but it might help some of you.
I know it helped me.
Anyway, 1200 wheel studs and wheel nuts...
Maybe to short for some of your setups? maybe they have sh*t out and you want a cheap and easy fix.
s13 studs are the same thread, same diameter, and are infact longer by 10mm. If you cant find s13 studs then most laurels and cefiros have the same suspension/brakes so they can be used aswell.
I have laurel ones in mine as of today.

Also, s13/180sx brake conversions. Since laurel and cefiro have pretty much the exact same brake/suspension setups, the disks and calipers can be used from them for conversions.

Another helpful bit of info, in the s13/180sx brake conversion, you can use type x 180sx rotors as they are larger dia then the non type x's. Only down side is they wont fit under 13's.
