hi guys,

i'm looking for a 90 degree speedo sender for my Lseries to 120Y converion.

i am having trouble bolting up the factory speedo bcable to the drive on the Gbox as it fould on the body where the crossmember bolt holes are (if that makes sense)

so i need 90 degree sender or a cable with a 90 degree end on it that will work. does anyone know of one that will fit? i have a TRX 5 speed.

i have talked ot datsport and they are doing the same thing at the moment. they have tried the 90 output from an LS400 box and it fouls on the body. they are still looking for a fix i think, but baz is on holiday.

thanks mate.....

seriously guys, i need a fix. this is the only thing stopping me from taking it to get a roadworthy, as the whole speedo is a major part of the test....

if anyone has any ideas it would be great!

the angle grinder won't do as it is structural to where the gearbox mounts to the body, i don't really want to make that bit unsafe.

i called them, they don't have anything, but i have found a solution.

Flexible drive australia, they should be able to fix what ails me. or at least my speedo cable problem

well to fit the 90 degree drive i need 75mm clearence, but i only have 35mm

now those of you with 120Y's may be able to help me, and i think 1200's have the same setup.

in the trans tunnel there are bulges on either side that have threaded holes for the gearbox crossmember to bolt to. on the 120Y they have 3 sets of holes, i am using the rear set.

can i cut part of the bulge out and box it in? will it still be structurally sound and will i need an engineers report?

i need to know this as if i need the report and everything and it's going to cost more than $500 then i will find a stumpy skyline box and an auto tailshaft. i don't really want to as i have a nice TRX box but these things happen.

i need serious answers too, as i'm getting hassles from the war office to get it done as we are selling the house and it has to look good. not parts everywhere and bonnet less cars.

to make it look factory you could maybe try fitting a 1200 greabox mount as they are nice and small

that way no one will notice that its been modded unless you point it out
