" becuase it wont fly my dirt bike has more hp than it at the monent.Ive allways driven performance v8s (bolt ons ect) but am sick of the 24.2p100km fuel econ so i figger a nice 1.8/2L turbo will do great in it. any infomation for eather ca18/sr20 conversion or some kind of mods to the 120y thats in it

Hey & welcome, If you're super handy and can do all the work yourself then it will save you a lot of money, but if you're gonna get a workshop to do it then you gonna need at least double $6500.

Fitting kit = $700-800
Engine + box = $1500 + depending on condition ??

That's a couple of grand and you haven't got and brakes or a decent diff yet. It all ads up.

The seach button is always great as this question gets asked daily and the answer has been covered hundreds of times.

I suggest before you spend the money work out what you want to do. Then call a few of your local engineers and run your ideas past them. They will let you know what you can and cannot do.

they are the ones that need to give it a ticket once its completed.

Yea different states of Aust have there own laws on engine upgrades. I have seen 1200 utes with SR and FJ20 turbo's here in Sydney registered under a buisness name can be passed/engineered for commericial use (not private) But in QLD the CA18T would be the way to go. Remember to take the hidden costs into account, I think you should be o.k if your not planning to cover body/ interior/ rims etc with your budget.

you wont just save on fuel but you will zoom past more that a few V8's
good luck with your project.
