Your spring guy can put in a short stiff leaf on the top forward part of your spring pack that will fix the axle tramp.

handle better? that's too vague to know if a rear bar will help it handle better. if you are trying to reduce understeer, then yes it will help. if its not really understeering now, then you might only make it handle worse by introducing too much oversteer. Or if you want to reduce the amount of bodyroll in total, you will have to increase the roll resistance at both ends either with springs, shocks or bars.

Also is there any thing that i could to do to aviod the horible axle tramp i have.

1. check condition of all bushes first.
2. check condition of shocks
3. have pinion angle checked by a suspension specialist. can be adjusted with wedges.
4. if none of that works (it really should unless you have heaps of power), have the leaf pack revised with a reverse half leaf on top of the pack.

is your diff LSD? that would be a good start,
also i reckon a small sway bar would have to help it sit flat, and a panhard rod, would involve some minor fabrication for btackets etc. well thats what Ive got planned for mine to get a bit better handling and traction anyway.

yeah I know - wonderful isn't it! I was looking at upgrading the 120Y bar I used to have on the front of my old coupe and found the same problem. Pedders told me they could make one to that pattern in any size.

EDIT: if you get a bar custom made like this, remember the rate of the bar is relative to the cube of its diametre. So a 22mm bar will be 33% stiffer than the 120Y's standard 20mm bar. That's a big change in the car's balance.

teretonga, that's actually my old coupe's interior. but yeah I can't wait to get to the track either - probably going to Morgan Park next wednesday for a general practice session. Then August 5 is the first hillclimb at Mt Cotton.

whiteline here in Aus make aftermarket rear bars for 1200/120Y, but they are a bit on the large side.

junkyard options - maybe early corollas. Some of the KE55's etc have a nice small rear swaybar that would probably be suitable.

Where can you buy one? Any junkyard options for the rear?
