need some help please guys,my brother has a 1980 model dato 1200 ute and wants to put a sr20 turbo in it i am more than capable of doing the conversion but thought id ask you guys which box to use ,bellhousing,exhaust,brake booster ectseems like its a common conversion so any advice or help would be much appreciated

1. talk to an engineer. Many won't pass it, that's why so many 1200 owners in Australia use the CA18det.
2. Because the utes have a small cabin, you'll need to get shorter gearbox than the S13/14/15 one. R30 Stumpy Skyline or rb20 import skyline box (both need bellhousing swap.

Everything else has been discussed to death on this website.

this conversion although not impossible is not too easy. make sure you start with a motor from a rear wheel drive car.

you dont NEED a different g/b im runnin a ca box, you just gotta take the gear stick out and turn it round takes 5 mins, the stick leans fwd and is in the perfect position.
