if i remember correctly, you need to use the stock r31 handbrake cable and have one shortened and one lengthened so that you can line them up with the original 1200 handbrake

someone had a pic up recently of a setup, i'll see if i can find it

this link should help, complete with the pic i was thinking of
handbrake cable

THanks for putting up those pics PIGDOG, its about time I finished this thread. Although I have not yet done the hand brake cable I am working on it. I got all the hand brake bits off the R31 skyline and am currently looking at adapting it to my ute.

On another note I sent a hand brake question off to Mad Dat Motorsport and they are working on a addaptor/hand brake set up for those who have fitted a R31 diff to a datto. Within the next few weeks was their guess as to when one might be available.

On ya champ.........if i had the right tooling id give it a crack...
I think there be a market for these cables,

I have seen a couple blokes doing R31 shorten diff in 1200's including me, and i've seen the fuel tanks been moved to the back,
id like NOT to do that, trying to keep the tank where it is if i can......

I kinda like the tank over the back axle. The extra capacity adds weight over the rear springs slightly softening the ride. Plus having 60L instead of 40L means more driving and less fueling up but thats just me
