Good to here they do a good job and that the axle is thicker/stronger

Thats cool is they dont case harden it, Thats 1 thing that I can get done up here.

You are always gonna get wear marks, but case hardening will just make it last a hell of a lot longer.

The basic method to case hardening is to heat it till its cherry red then quench it in oil and leave it in the oil till its cool. There more to it than that but thats just a quick explanation

yeah looked to be a good job, have about 100mm or so of spline to play with and the axle doesnt go undersized anymore so its actually stronger than a stock axle

dont know if they hardened it or not, but i dont think so as mine has slight wear marks on it

fair enough, i think it took 2 days for the guys to do my axle
then say another 3-4 days for postage

Thanks A SH_TLOAD dude. The mob doing the diff arnt rushing it cause they know I am still chasing an axle but once they know I have one they will get straight on it.

yeah was $110 cut and resplined
how soon do you need it? might just give the wreckers a call when im free and find out what the going rate for an axle is

Mate, your a lifesaver if you could do that for me. Cause I think it you who was saying there was a mob that did the shortening near you for around ther $120 mark.
