The key to making your flares look good is about wheel choice. Bolt on, weld in or smoothed in it doesn't matter. If you don't increase the track or tyre width then they look dopey.

That green ute looks awesome because the wheels compliment the flaring job

true daveman but also the smoother the intergration into the body work the moe natural it looks (factory almost)

I actually prefer the bolt-on flares - they look tough. but I grew up drooling over competition cars with bolt-on flares...

as for looking factory - Datsun (amongst others) made a number of models with bolt-on flares. C10 & C110 Skyline GTRs, 240ZG spring to mind immediately. 240RS etc

check out tommys ute thats about as big as i personally would go - they they almost look factory but just give it that one step higher in class
