hey guys just recently purchased a 1000 coupe with half the paint stripped (which has surface rust) and i need to get it off quick and easy but was just wondering weather it would be better to get it acid dipped or lightly sand blasted (car is just rolling shell) any info would be good on both matters.

dont go bead blasting it or sand blasting it, as the heat n stuff warps the panels.

i had my ute soda blasted, and it enviromentally friendly, it took about 4hrs or so.
Sand blasting and the such take about a week to do, but it is cheaper then soda blasting.

Soda blasting cost around $1100 and that was for the whole ute.

It was done at Taren Point, near Miranda at a boat yard. Originally the technique was used for prepping boats and for stripping surface rust off them, and then they expanded into using the technique on cars. have a look at my thread HERE on page 3 the pictures start, here is the link to the soda blast website:

www.sodablast.com.au

what it can't get off is thick bog, and deep seated rust but they can get everything else off though.

Good Luck with it all!!
