interested in a imported 1200 sunny utes from japan?

Today i was talking to a top bloke who can import and comply pre 1988 1200/sunny utes.

depends on how much he gets them for in japan, they will be about $4500 landed.

What needs to be done to get them regoed?
Change seat belt,change tyres, late ones will need a cat, maybe intrustion bars and get it tagged.

I'm interested in getting one my self. is anyone else interester?

the one his dad drives is yellow with grey trim, A/C, has the rectangle head lights and is pritty mint.

he can get short ones and long tray ones.

Sounds like a great idea for many people on this site..I can only be an 'if only' man on such an offer.

Anyone every retro fitted an old grille on to one of these? is there much difference between the bonnet, bumper, gaurds?

the bonnet and gaurds are the same, only a few small mods to the surport panel.

What motor do they have? A14?
How much change would be needed for round headlights? Would perfer round ones, makes it look more old skool

Exactly what i was thinking D_R, with a round headlight front end, reasonably low kays, air conditioning, and doors that still shut nicely.. nice daily driver.
