okk....
The latch system fo the tailgate is out of a hilux, to make this system work i have mounted the hilux bits in my tailgate and have two electric soliniods pulling and pushing them open and closed, i have a two way momentry switch mouned in the tray and you just push it to release and push it again to lock it.

The carpet is just marine carpet that i bought from bunnings warehouse. the carpet is glued onto a false plywood floor, which i lift out wen i chuck my bike in the back so i dont get it dirty. all up the false floor cost me $70.00, the carpet was $50.00 and the glue $20.00. I got the ply for free but this would of course add to the cost.

Thanks again guys, ill keep you updated.

the carpet was very flexible and there was no need to mould it. i just used contact cement or "Quick Grip" as it may be known, to hold it down.
