Well its that time of year for us army dudes and I have just been informed I am being posted from Townsville to Darwin. Soooo Whats the Darwin chapter of the Datto 1200 club like . Is there even any members up there

Hay mey be I will be the only one and I might have to join a, GULP, pulsar club , NAH FU_K that, I would rather grind my nutz with a cheese grater than join that mob

I am also wandering how I will go finding necessary parts up there, its hard enough here in Townsville, I could only imagine it getting WORSE .

Anyway if anyone is up there let me know and we can catch up when I get there in mid December.

Oh and by the way I wont be driving the ute up there, driving if from sydney to townsville was enough of an experience for me, this time the ute will go on a truck and I will cruise in the Air conditioned comfort of the Patrol with the missus

Didn't know you were army mate? I'm a RAAFie (keep your comments about that to yourself).

Darwin has a thriving car culture (they have Powercruise now), but mostly V8. I've heard the hi-tech stuff is becoming more common though.

dogboy69 ay, well that will make 2 members - WOO HOO

Whordia, a RAAFie in sydney, you must be out at Richmond, what trade are you? I am a, as the army calls it, A HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC.

Its good to here they got a thriving car culture up there. I am not fussed with V8 or High Tech just as long as they dont act like FU_KWITS but you always get one in EVERY crowd I might even go in the powercruise, if I get enough power to cruise with

there are a couple datsun guys up there that occasionally lurk on ozdat.

Parts should be okay, probably not second handy's out of the trading post or quokka or whatever you have over there. but auto shops should be okay.

Yeah bundy, I'm a logo (commonly referred to as a logistics officer). You've got some interesting postings mate. How was/is Townsville, I'd love to end up there myself.

Also, once you get to Darwin give us a report as well, wouldn't mind checking it out some day.

Deffinatly looking forward to OPEN SPEED LIMITS but I heard they have been cut back to 140Km/h, I guess I will find out when I get there . And yes another datto meet sounds great, I am going away for 2 weeks but when I get back lets try and meet up again, might have my spooled/shortened Skyline diff in by then too - YAY.

Hay Whorida, Townsville is/was great and I will be sad to leave but I am always keen for a new adventure. I have had a few good postings. My first after Kapooka was Albury/Wadonga to do my trade then off to sydney for for my On Job Training then off to Brisbane then back to Sydney then off to Townsville. Now we are going to Darwin. Cant wait
