#31 Re: 12" wheels on 180 struts towers?

man this is confusing me, the crossmember which the motor bolts is a 200B one in my car. So the late 120Y contol arms will bolt to that and a late 120Y ball joint onto that? Then there is that rod that goes out towards the front of the car, is that the radius rod? If so what are the outer rod ends, those brakets that the radius rod goes thru with the rubber and washers? wouldnt i have to use a 120y strut and spring so that the 120y rotor and caliper will fit, not 200b ones? Sorry for all the questions, i might have to try this on the weekend as I have most of the parts.

nah your stuck with bigger struts, give up on trying to kill yourself with 12s and a CA
go atleast 13x6s and no one will be able to tell they arent stock anyway

I'm a fan of the 12's but for safety you really should have the extra width that a 13 inch tyre will offer. Have to admit though they're hell fun for smokies

Fine fine fine then Pigdog, you win, I'll settle for 13" :(. Haha well that reality, I found out all i need to do is get a new windscreen to get my road worthy, so soon ill have to do the engine swap. Nice links haha, thats a nice looking 120y.

Well Well, I have succeeded at last. I'm ptretty sure its either a 180b or 200b strut, I looked in the wreckers today and looked at a 200b caliper, but havnt found a 180b caliper to look at, but on my 120y ive got either a 200 or a 180 caliper and with a 5mm spacer plate a 12" rim will *just* fit. Ive been driving around and its been fine. So that means standard datto hub caps can be used. I'll let you all know when I find out exactly what caliper and strut it is. I'm not sure as i bought the car with it already in, I just thought I'd try the spacer and it worked!

if 12s fit with spacers, then im guessing you have the pissy little sunny or 180b brakes.....id be willing to trust them with my life

hmm, still trying to figure out what is what. Can someone tell me what differences there are between a 200b front end and a 180b front end. Also what differences there are between a 200b front rotor compared to a 180b rotor, are they the same? The caliper I have that fits a 12" over it is a girlock, it has Datsun written on it, then in smaller writing next to the datsun, is "120 00". Does any one know what those calipers are off? I had a look at a 200B again and its not the same caliper, still havnt been able to look at a 180b. They are the calipers i got with the car, but as I said im still trying to figure out weather its 200 or 180 stuff (As in rotor and strut). The centre of the rotor sticks out a fair bit, which is why with a spacer plate the wheel just clears.

Anyone with any info please do tell. Thanks
