180b has bigger strut tube but its on a different angle so you actually have more wheel clearance

say no to sunny struts
strut tubes are too long for a lowered 1200 and the brakes arent that great, same thing as 1200 coupe but slightly bigger disc(very very small difference really)
the ONLY good thing about them is you dont have to change the spring perch

Yeah i thought 1600 would increase the track width, just got offered a set and was considering the possibilities. I'm guessing 180B struts are the same diameter tube as a stanza or are they the same as B120, B210. I also want to stay with the standard diameter strut tube so there is more room for wheels.

1600 struts increase the track width just like 180b and all the others
but if you arent chasing heaps of camber then using the late ute balljoints instead of stanza ones will only make a 10mm increase in track either side

you could go the 120y struts with adaptors to suit s13 silvia brakes...but that increases track by 7mm a side

Do the 180B struts increase the track width because i want to keep it the same as standard, I reckon they probably would. Ideally i want a set of late 120Y struts with PBR caliper as i have a set of these on one of my utes and am very happy with these but can only seem to find the crappy earlier struts at wreckers around SE QLD. If you could find me a set of these I would buy them off you. Cheers.

on a late ute all you really need to do is get stanza or sunny steering arms and do the spring perch mods

pros of 1600 struts:
ummm.....might out brake 1200 disc setup

cons
probably wont be much better so not worth the effort

in my opinion you should buy some 180b struts, i just happen to have a pair or 2 for sale

They will bolt in after cutting the spring seat and welding the smaller one on and doing lower arm mods as per stanza/sunny struts etc.

Definitely not worth doing with 1600 struts though.

dont use stanza.

Searched the tech section but couldn't find anything. Do Datsun 1600 P510 front struts, hubs and brakes bolt into a 1200 (1985 B120) and what are the pro's and con's of this setup if it can be done?
