I'm about to start bending my own fuel lines, and wonder what you do for the ends - which then need to connect to rubber hosing.

Is the idea to flare the end of the pipe, and put a threaded fitting on the end of the pipe (like a brake line) - and then screw another fitting onto that.

Is a single flare sufficient, or do you need to double flare for EFI?

i would get a flare kit (cheap ones dont work though) and flare it like the right hand end in the top picture

even better would be to get a place like pirtek to flare it for you

if you have a decent speed shop close by the guys will usually flare the ends at no charge (or minimal cost) and that will keep you out of truble

if you are running 35-45psi, using good quality stainless steel EFI hose clamps should be sufficient. You need the ones that protect the hose, not the generic ryco ones you get at local auto store.

I recommend going to the wreckers, and getting a dozen of them from an R31 skyline. or similar.

Take a sample of your EFI hose, as there are at least 2 different outer diameters of 5/16th EFI rated fuel hose.

Do you still need to flare it if using EFI hose clamps. (I've got a few EFI hose clamps - picked them up from EFI hardware last time I was down there).

I've got a 'double flaring' tool - but it cannot create the flare that 1200rc recommends...more like a trumpet at the end of the pipe.

you need a tool used by plumbers or anyone who works with soft metal pipes, they have a tool which will "baloon" the ends, like on the factory hoses.

can't remember the name of the tool at the moment...

There's an exhaust place and a couple of mechanics at the end of the street - I might go see if they are able to make flares on pipes. Might be cheaper than buying a super tool to do it.

If not I could just try my double flaring tool, it's a super cheap ebay job though...

I need to get a brakeline flaring tool, im sick of my spaghetti brakelines after the last brake upgrade and would like to do them myself, if theres something that does it all would be good.
