Are you going to turbo?

If not, just use good quality standard ones with ceramic coating on them.

before you go putting all the good words together you should probably start with a goal of what you want to achieve. unless you go extremely serious, as in a motor that you would not want to drive regularly on the street then forged pistons and rods are a bit overkill. the a series motors are strong little buggers!

head work maybe some flat top pistons and carbs will all do you well.

I agree with LAGWAGON.

PM a guy on this site named boofhead.
He has the ultimate A12 motor.
As far as I know he runs standard one oversize pistons and just good quality rings.
Use the standard pistons, good quality rings and a VERY good quality oil.
If your engine's timing is right and the engine is assembled right, those pistons won't break easily.Maybe get them crack tested before installation to have more piece of mind.

Probably the best piece of advice any of us will ever get when we start on a project.

Once you know what result you expect, then the path to that result is much easier to map out. Good one Leigh.

im sick of hearing that everything is so hard to find........ yet no one is prepared to pay "rare" prices for anything either

have you looked other than putting a post on here.....

people on here....like me.... dont necessarily want to see their stuff

but i've seen 3 a14/15s sell in the last 6 weeks with my own eyes (2 out of cars at wreckers)

get out there and start looking for them
