personally, if i had the funds to fund a ca18 install i would rather concerntrate it into a wild a15.
I think a lot of people underestimate the fun that can be had in an a15 1200.
Light and powerful is where its at.
Even an a15/14 with 140hp would be a blast to drive on the road.
The ca isnt the heaviest engine in the world but it adds up. Engine, gearbox, bigger diff, much larger brakes, etc in weight.
Have you ever compared a ca and an a series gearbox? huge difference.

Im alittle cross minded as i wouldnt mind a sweet ca in a 1200 but i think for the price and effort an a series is where i'd end up.
And if you want a turbo, a series turbo setups have proven themselves before as a solid power producer.

Of course this is all just my opinion and its your decison on what you want.

I found my A15 could blow off V8s from the lights keep up with all the latest NA jap stuff, and really provided all the performance you needed in a 40 year old chassis designed for 1/3 the HP.

It was a quick car and always kept my pulse racing.

You can overpower a chassis, (a Datsun ute aint a Porsche) there is a fine line between high performance and a deathtrap.

In that case save your money and run boost with LPG simple, economical and allows for further development without the all the wiring.

Simple LPG setup is gov. covered

Stock A15 with copper head gasket and heat proofed combustion chambers, valves, ports etc. and simple cheap, manifolds will make reliable 140hp for under 4kAU$.

$2300 is pretty cheap for a well built A15 I spent close to $5k on my old JTS A14 and made just over 150hp was very reliable and at the time was suprising quite a few high tech turbo cars!!! Remeber when the WRX first came out the old A14 would stick with them to around 160kmh !!not bad for a little pushrod engine. Yes Ca18dets go better but a lot more hassle and expense. Good luck getting one in and running sweet for under $6k engineered.
Cheers Andrew
PS: I still miss the sound of my old A series had the nicest sound at around 7500 If I where to build another 1200 I would probably gor for another Aseries and thats after owning a 230rwkw ca18 coupe!!!
