haha thats funny,, it would be a wise choice to go a smaller motor because sr20 weigh allot more ,, you can make a15 go freakishly fast,, but it does cost a bit money ...,,,

lots of mods to the car required forget about really getting it on the road though it will basically be a sports sedan. Oh and budget 4-5k for a DE motor. They are good motors I just got one into my 1200 coupe but it took 2 years. Oh it has 150rwhp out of a stock engine. Very reliable horsepower. Will be lots of fun.
It will be a major headache to do in a 1000 but still doable. Anythings is doable if you have the time and money. Trouble is most people give up 1/2 way through ...

Sorry but we need BS detectors, thats to stop many dreaming into the wrong direction. Ive misquoted figures in the past and accepted being wrong and duly apologised. Misquoting is fine but encouraging something that is a waste of time is not respectful and destructive to datsuns such as the rare K.
Critique is healthy to encourage constructive modifications and reduce wasting resources such as time, money and rare cars.

There are a number of late 2ltr light alloy engines available now and the SR is not in that category as discussed and surely will be asked by many noobs to come.

Those that love, respect this forum and datsuns should try to not slander incorrect advice.

As mentioned anything is possible with modifying cars
....but its least the case for logic and common sense.

Yep not worth doing.

If you're going to go to all that effort, I reckon an E15ET would be a better proposition.

I still think this would be close to the ultimate engine conversion for a 1000.

personally i dont know why the fuk you'd want a sr20 in something so god dam light and go kartish.
It'd handle like a sack of sh*t.
There are plenty of other good engines out there man. Leave the sr for larger heavier cars that the chassis can actually handle the power.
Poor 1000 would break a leg.
