The vitamin C formula:
Consider a CR10DE with boost!
Cheap no one wants them anywhere
All alloy twin cam, 16v, 71mm bores and 63mm stroke 9000rpm. Who needs an R1 engine at 25kg less than an A10.
300hp would be possible with a decomp head gasket, a ball bearing snail, ignition only controller, custom camshafts & LPG.

U2ltr class beast.

Pictured is the CR12DE but the 10 is the same just diff stroke.

CR10DE = K12 March / Micra 2002

I looked into using a GC engine from a K11 Micra in a RWD and it could be done. There's the CG10DE, CG13DE and CGA3DE but the first two have a distributor of the back of the head. The CGA3DE doesnt' so no clearance problems on the firewall and from what I could see the gearbox bolt pattern was the same as a GA series engine. The C23 Serena came with a GA16DE mounted inline/RWD so there's a gearbox that would work. I wonder if the CR engine shares the same gearbox bolt pattern as the CG before it?

Ah yes now I see. I also got of my lazy butt and did a search. I did have a conversation with "D" about these engines once before.

Bit late on the reply but covered by our trusty and zesty members.

Id definately be interest also in an A10 boosted but the 3 bearing crank is a no-no.

Great idea on the serena housing.

As for the CR its the replacement for the micro Sr-like CG so it wouldnt be far in the gearbox department Id guess.

With fuel prices through the roof these little motorbike like engines from lame putters have great potential.

The only way to make these FWD engines work though is through distributor-less ignition like from electromotive or some of the MSD range.

I wish I had the funds to compete in the under 2ltr class with a boosted 1 ltr CR10DE

hey Wombat easier for you with FWD imagine 6 speed transmission and a GT2560R snail

Looking at those pics you posted of the CR's D, they seem to have the water inlet's/outlets at the back of the head... lame. Can be done however, like the fabeled 20v 4age into ae86/starlet anything is possible
