Mine is also stock, except for wheels, & now even has the factory option steering wheel, but I'm 100 miles south of Sydney.
Sorry, but this forum is for enthusiasts, not really restorers, so perhaps you can understand that once a stock one fall into the clutches of this lot, it doesn't stay stock for long. Too bad you weren't looking for an original 1000 coupe in the Sydney area. I think one of our members could have helped you out there.

I can let a mate of mine know tomorrow, and give him your number. I don't know if it is too late or not but worth a try.
His car is a stock coupe with A12 and auto, original paint, the only mods I know of are cd player under the dash, 14" Simmons wheels and slightly lower suspension. He is located on the Gold Coast.

well who wants a stock 1200 anyway. With all that potential just siting there, it would take an enthusiast with some serious self control not to take advantage of it

My stock 1200 is not particularly suited to country driving with its lower performance levels, but I frequently have business & pleasure trips to Sydney & in a high density urban environment, it's bloody marvelous.
The auto trans works well & acceleration rates are good enough to keep up with the traffic without difficulty. In many ways it's an ideal car in this environment. That small carb just sips away at the fuel & still provides nippy, but smooth & controled performance, something that a big cam, big carb high performance engine couldn't do under the same conditions. It's quiet in operation so I can listen to my favorite AM radio programs & all I do is point & press on the power pedal. Mmmmmm, lovely. Unfortunately, I live about 100 miles [160k] from the middle of Sydney & the journey there is done at a speed that is a compromise between obstructing traffic flow & un-necessarily flogging it. Hopefully the A15 with stock GX induction & 4N71B auto trans will prove to be the perfect compromise, but it will be such a shame to lose that wonderfull stock 1200 engine. You can view topic.
